Michigan Avenue Job Description: Job Summary: The Leadership and Volunteer Engagement Associate conducts a variety of essential tasks as part of the Advancement Services team in the Office of Advancement at Chicago Booth. Reporting to the Senior Associate Director, Leadership and Volunteer Engagement, the Leadership and Volunteer Engagement Associate will work collaboratively to execute programmatic strategies for the Council on Chicago Booth and provide support to the Advancement Services team. Responsibilities: - Support the planning and execution of regular and as-needed Council meetings. Meetings will include in-person meetings (domestic and international locations) and virtual meetings.
- Working with fundraisers, prospect research staff, event staff, and other colleagues from around the University, assist in the process of preparing confidential briefings for events and individual meetings for the Dean and other University leaders.
- Working with the Senior Associate Director, Deanâ™s Advisory Board Engagement, review Council membership and composition and make recommendations for new members, rotations, and renewal.
- Extract and analyze data from the Griffin system, enter prospect notes, and run monthly standard reports and specialized reports.
- Plan, implement, and follow-up on communication and logistics regarding the Council meetings and subcommittee meetings (when applicable).
- Working with the Senior Director and Chief Operating Officer, assist in special projects as needed.
- Support Advancement Services team on special projects as needed.
Education, Experience or Certifications: Education: - Bachelor's degree required.
Experience: - A minimum one year of work experience in nonprofit management, advancement, donor relations, stewardship, alumni relations, or similar work required.
Technical Knowledge or Skills: - A strong commitment to customer service, proven track record of problem solving and the ability to manage multiple projects and relationships is required.
- Excellent analytical skill and meticulous attention to detail required.
- Demonstrated skill and knowledge of, or ability to quickly learn, the internal workings of the University and the technology tools available to Chicago Booth staff required, including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point required.
- Ability to work collegially and collaboratively in a team setting required.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills characterized by the ability to listen, to speak, and to write well required.
- Ability to work as needed evenings and weekends required.
- An interest in pursuing a career in development preferred.
