Our programs and services help children and families build safer, healthier, and brighter futures. We are currently seeking a qualified Supervisor for our Foster Care team.
The Foster Care Supervisor is responsible for the management and supervision of all the functions of the Foster Care Program. This includes staff supervision, program census, the maintenance of client services in compliance with the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services’ rules and regulations, and participation in agency-wide responsibilities.
SUPERVISION OF FOSTER CARE STAFF
Responsible for recommendations for hiring, orientation, organizing department and evaluations of foster care staff with approval of the Executive Director.
Evaluate the job performance of foster care staff.
Ensure that casework services are performed and carried out in accordance with standards set by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services and Shelter.
Ensure the implementation of agency policies and procedures and the Department of Children and Family Services “Code of Ethics for Child Welfare Professionals.”
Assist in fulfilling requests for services by conducting in-person or telephone interviews and assessing whether or not placement is indicated.
Assist caseworkers in providing referral services when placement is not indicated.
Responsible for completing foster care intakes during office hours.
Provide 24-hour back-up intake service as required.
Receive intakes for all Foster Care Programs and assigns cases to appropriate worker.
Work with outside agencies in the establishment of both short-term and long-term treatment plans for the foster children.
Provide evening emergency availability to biological families, foster children, and foster parents on an as-needed basis.
Assure the maintenance of agency records for children and families in placement and foster parents.
Attend all required staff meetings and in-service training sessions.
Maintain monthly agency service statistics.
Maintain working relationships with referral sources.
Attend all scheduled meetings with DCFS Agency Performance Monitor and provide all necessary information to the Monitor.
Participate in CQI meetings and ensure that staff are appropriately assigned to CQI teams.
Carry out all duties as designated by the Executive Director.
MSW from an accredited school of social work preferred. Master’s Degree in a human services field required.
LSW; LCSW eligible in the State of Illinois preferred. Must submit proof of certifications.
Five years experience in child welfare and two years supervisory experience in a social work setting required.
Must have the Child Welfare Licensure certification (CWEL) from the State of Illinois.
