Associate Film Director National High School Institute
The National High School Institute (the “Cherub” program) Film Division at Northwestern University in Evanston is seeking a qualified candidate to run its 5-week summer Film Institute on the Northwestern campus.
Since 1931, the National High School Institute, a nonprofit organization has brought outstanding students to Northwestern University’s Evanston campus for intense educational experiences. “Collaboration” and “Story” are the pillars of our Film & Video Division that guide our curriculum, with an emphasis on film-“making”. Our core labs provide a discipline specific foundation of elements that include: acting on camera, production, and screenwriting.
This is part time work in May and June and full-time work from June 22 – August 4, 2019. Salary Commensurate with Experience.
Assisting NHSI Director with Daily Operations, including:
Student placement in Elective and Master Classes
Keeping communication between the NHSI office and the Film program current and well-informed.
Monitor the health and safety of all students (80+) and staff (20+)
Coordinating and overseeing final student film festival
Assisting Tech Director with equipment scheduling and Support
Coordinating Film Shoots
Confirming location contact
Assisting various departments as required
Tacking additional tasks as assigned
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Film, Arts Education, Education or Arts Administration, preferably Master’s degree, or equivalent professional experience
Strong interpersonal skills and experience working with a variety of personalities.
Strong Organizational Skills and Attention to Detail
Have a passion for working with teenagers.
