The Association of Texas Professional Educators, the states’ largest professional association for public school employees, seeks an experienced Human Resources professional for our Human Resources/Operations Director position. The HR/Operations Director plans and directs programs for all human resources areas including employee relations, compensation and payroll processing, staff training and development, benefits administration and wellness program, recruiting and hiring, and employment law compliance. Develops policies and programs to meet organizational needs and provides guidance and technical assistance to management staff on all human resource related issues. Additionally, the HR/Operations Director provides oversight to the supportive services for the state office. The HR/Operations Director manages 3 direct reports. This position reports directly to the Executive Director of the Association and is a member of the Leadership Team.
The minimum requirements for this position include a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Management or a related field with 7+ years of human resources management experience and 3-5 years’ experience in facilities and office management. Progressively responsible, professional experience will be considered in lieu of some years of experience. The right candidate must also be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and familiar with payroll applications such as Paycom; must be able to handle and maintain confidentiality; must be aware of current HR practices, employment laws, federal, state, and local compliance regulations; must communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing and must have strong interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications: PHR, SPHR or SHRM-SCP or CP certification.
