POSITIONSUMMARY: Under general DIRECTION of the Associate Dean for University College, and working in conjunction with the Transfer Advisory Council, develops, coordinates and delivers programs/services that support the persistence, retention and graduation of the general transfer student population including reentry students (+25 years or older), student parents, veterans and other non-traditional students. Oversees activities of 5-8 transfer peer advisors. This position operates under general direction and is expected to develop liaison relationships and partnerships with various campus stakeholders such as staff and program directors to administer and seamlessly deliver transfer student services, and to engage robust student participation in transfer student service programs. ESSENTIALDUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following: Responsibilities include planning, coordination, implementation, marketing and assessment of program services; coordination of outreach efforts; referral of students who are at risk or in academic difficulty; participation in a team that develops curriculum and teaches student success workshops, and facilitates seminars and classes for the transfer student services program; and creating clear relationships and mutually beneficial partnerships with multiple campus offices that currently serve transfer students (i.e. admissions; first year experiences/orientation; Center for Cooperative Learning (tutoring); Undergraduate Research; EOP, TRIO; Office of Inclusive Excellence).
Serve as a resource for current and incoming transfer students and assist them with their transition to CSUMB by providing comprehensive transfer student center services and support.
In conjunction with the Transfer Advisory Council, develop, plan, coordinate, and assess multiple high impact academic and student success programs, events, activities, and workshops designed to support student transition and retention.
Collaborate with campus entities on events that promote transfer student success.
Coordinate day-to-day operations of the transfer services center, including events, calendar management and scheduling.
Oversee a robust transfer peer mentor program.
Oversee the development of culturally appropriate marketing and publicity materials such as flyers, emails, newsletters, posters, presentations, brochures, videos, websites, and social media platforms.
Conduct a variety of outreach activities including college tours, and presentations regarding programs and services.
Attend workshops, conferences as deemed necessary.
Promote and maintain an atmosphere of excellent internal and external customer service.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university preferably in areas related to education, advising, and or counseling AND three years of related experience.
Additional experience during which the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education year-for-year basis.
Special Conditions of Employment:
The person holding this position is considered a "mandated reporter" under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment. NOTE: “A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the University Corporation. Compensation and Benefits:
The monthly salary range for this position is: $4,672 – $5,834. This is an exempt position and as such is not eligible for the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Benefits include medical, dental, vision and life insurance benefits, contributory retirement plan, TSA (403b), 13 paid holidays per year and other benefits.
