The TREPAC staff accountant maintains general ledger accounts and business transactions for four separate Political Action Committees (PACs) applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) that includes analytical work and thorough review of financial records.
Assist the TREPAC accounting manager with day-to-day, month and year –end operations of the Governmental Affairs accounting department including budget review and analysis
Perform the processing and recording of accounts payable transactions and ensure that all invoices are paid accurately and in accordance with applicable policies and procedures
Create and maintain supporting schedules to the financial statements.
Prepare and record monthly accrual entries.
Perform general account analysis and reconciliations, including bank statement
Work with TREPAC accounting manager to ensure reporting accuracy.
Assist in the preparation of financial reports
Work with auditors during annual financial reviews.
Demonstrates accuracy and pays close attention to detail
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload in order to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate issues to all levels of management
Knowledge and ability to use applicable information technology and systems to meet work needs
