This a new full-time exempt employee position. The American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers is seeking a driven, ambitious, and energetic candidate to provide financial and administrative support for the day-to-day activities as the Financial and Administrative Assistant to the Executive Director and other general office support. The position is an all-encompassing position for someone looking to gain experience in a top Association. You will have a chance to contribute to every area of AAML through a broad set of responsibilities including critical customer-facing interactions. The Financial and Administrative Assistant performs general administrative responsibilities such as scheduling appointments and meetings, preparing correspondence, organizes files, creates mailing lists for various mailings, etc. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and experience using database systems is highly desirable.
He/She will support financial affairs, including purchase orders, paying invoices, cash flow, banking, tax matters, and some insurances, etc. Work with Quickbooks to track AAML’s expenses and perform both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions. Provide support to the Executive Director with financial administration.
Provide Administrative support:
Distributing daily emails, inquiries, mail, and deliveries; preparing FedEx and messenger shipments; answering the office phone and general inquiries and maintain office supplies/equipment.
Preparing and emailing various correspondence.
Updating/maintaining Executive Committee, Board of Governors and Fellow information on various media. (Your Membership, Dropbox and Website)
Completes special projects and prepares reports as assigned.
Five years or more prior experience as a Financial and Administrative Assistant or Bookkeeper (or a relevant business degree) is a plus.

Microsoft Office Suite: 2 years (Required)
Association Management System: 2 years (Required) Your Membership (Preferred)
Candidate must be able to multitask and have excellent communication (written and verbal) skills.
Must be highly organized, detail oriented with the ability to prioritize and successfully meet deadlines.
Good customer service skills and the ability to interact well with Executive Committee, Board of Governors, Fellows, staff, vendors and the public at large.
Candidate must have experience in working with Association Management software such as Your Membership, Financial Software like Quickbooks as well as the ability to work well within the Microsoft Office suite.
A master at juggling multiple projects and managing expectations.
The candidate must be skilled at time management, assisting in event planning and financial processing.
