About St. James Cathedral Counseling Center
Cathedral Counseling Center was founded in 1974 on the belief that mental health services should be excellent, affordable and available to anyone in need. Since then, we have helped more than 12,000 adults in the Chicago area manage mental health issues like mood disorders, trauma and grief.
Care is offered without regard to income, religious affiliation, race, ethnicity, disability, gender or sexual orientation. We are able to offer sliding-scale fees thanks to generous support from donors and from our clinicians who provide services at reduced rates.
All clinicians are licensed professionals with extensive post-graduate clinical experience. Cathedral clients receive private-practice quality care and pay affordable fees scaled to income. In addition to individual therapy and group therapy we offer couple therapy and premarital counseling. We also offer professional development programs that help clinicians enhance their skills and strengthen the quality of psychotherapy available in the metro area.
