Leveraging extensive programming and analytical expertise, the Senior Drupal Software Engineer will work independently or on a team to analyze, implement, and support a complete, custom Drupal website and web application environment and associated integrated system and database applications. This position will be a primary front- and back-end (full-stack) development resource across CTY IT applications including, but not limited to, the public facing website, the constituent portal, the intranet site, the student information system, and numerous integrated web applications. The Senior Drupal Software Engineer will work closely with groups across CTY, JHU IT, and outside vendors to lead and support Drupal migration, modernization, and redesign projects. The Senior Drupal Software Engineer will be expected to apply critical thinking to user experience and functionality across the portfolio. This position may lead or guide other CTY IT team members through direct and indirect management, training, mentoring, and influence. The Senior Drupal Software Engineer will contribute to CTY IT strategic planning, project leadership, design, modernization, business process improvement, and compliance.
Responsible for full life-cycle of medium to large sized complex projects; strong technical skills; strong ability to understand complex business processes. Develops solutions based on extensive technical knowledge, skills and experience; influences client towards innovative/integrated solutions.

Installation, configuration, and administration of Drupal and associated modules.
Drupal server configuration, tuning, and monitoring.
Custom development to support advanced or unique functionality.
Design and support of CI/CD pipeline.
Design and implementation of integration architecture.
Complex integration utilizing API's, Views, and other methods.
Advanced theming for custom look and feel supporting accessibility and responsive design.
Database administration, optimization, querying, and data transfer.
Testing, validation, launch, and support activities.
Contribute to UI/UX decisions and design.
Serve as technical expert involved in training, customer consultation, and documentation.
Provide technical support for instructors, students, and other CMS users.
Collect and analyze user requirements.
Translate business requirements into functional/technical specifications.
Follow industry and department best practices and policies for development work.
Identify, define, and prioritize tasks within sprints.
Effectively utilize issue tracking systems.
Tactical project management activities for assigned tasks and projects.
Research and evaluate new and emerging technology associated with the CMS.
Work collaboratively with other IT teams across CTY and JHU.
Work with minimal supervision in a deadline driven environment.
Cultivate and maintain a thorough understanding of CTY and Johns Hopkins mission, perspective, function, and strategy.

Bachelor's degree required. Additional experience may be substituted for education to the extent permitted by the JHU Equivalency Formula.
Six years of related work experience with computer systems and applications.
Two years of experience as supervisor, manager, or project manager of technical resources/projects.
Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits or 18 graduate degree credits = 1 year of experience. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college coursework may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.
Headless / decoupled Drupal development.
Atlassian administration experience.
Moodle development or support experience.
Semantic markup, accessibility, version control.
Experience in K-12, higher education, or academic medicine organization.
Experience upgrading and migrating legacy web applications.
Expert knowledge of PHP and MySQL, PHP frameworks (Symfony, Zend).
Expert knowledge of RESTful services, JS frameworks (Angular, React, Express).
Demonstrable experience with UI and UX principles, concepts, and techniques.
Demonstrable success on Drupal projects as a technical lead or senior individual contributor.
