The American Enterprise Institute (AEI) is seeking a staff accountant to join its Accounting team.
The staff accountant will be responsible for assisting with revenue accounting, deposits, accounts receivable, fixed assets schedule, analysis of financial data, accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger. Financial analysis responsibilities include helping prepare financial statements, account reconciliations, and various results analysis. Additional responsibilities include assisting with closing process and annual audits. The staff accountant will report to the controller.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting with a minimum of three years of relevant experience, preferably in a nonprofit setting. CPA is required. The candidate must be proficient in Excel and have a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Strong verbal and written communications skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a team environment are essential.
