Deliverables will bemeasured in the following manner: To complete all clinical trial calendar, coverage analysisand draft budgets within 30 days for new studies and 10 days for clinical trialamendments; budget and contract payment terms executed in 56 days.
Â· Completea full coverage analysis of clinical trial expenses according to Medicareguidelines.
Â· Performa quality review of internal cost budgets and sponsor budgets for all newclinical trials and amendments consistent with the coverage analysis.
Â· Workcollaboratively with the Principal Investigator (PI), Clinical Trial Managers,and ancillary departments to confirm all the costs associated with the researchstudy.
Â· Confirmall identified costs are covered in the sponsor budget including patient carecosts, facility and equipment costs, and study team time and effort.
Â· Reviewthe payment terms in the contract to ensure they are consistent with CTSRrequirements.
Â· Collaboratewith the Clinical Trial Managers and Principal Investigators to obtain anddocument approval of the budget and payment terms.
Â· Obtaininstitutional signature(s) to execute the clinical trial agreement and/oramendments.
Â· Completethe financial billing console within the clinical trial management system withfinalized budget information and release calendar to open the trial.
Â· Ensurestimely and accurate review and reconciliation of research charges in Epic,iLab, and other VUMC internal systems to the appreciate account within theinstitutions general ledger.
Â· Functionindependently and proactively with strong critical thinking, analytical, andcommunication skills.
Â· Effectivelyprioritize tasks and follows-up to ensure completion of studies in a compliantand timely manner.
Â· Deliverfocused attentive customer service to investigators, nurses, coordinators,other staff and sponsors.
Â· Effectivelyidentify, prioritize and communicate outstanding issues to management. Proposepotential solutions to identified issues and demonstrate follow throughactions.
Â· Participatein improving departmental performance through recommending areas or approachesfor improvement activities, performing new procedures, collecting data andproviding input to office discussions.
Â· Trackturnaround times and report outcomes to management to ensure departmentalperformance metrics are met.
Â· Demonstratethe characteristics of an effective team member and leader.
Â· Provideinformal guidance and support to team members.
Â· Servesas a subject matter expert for colleagues with less experience; may lead smallproject teams.
Â· Developknowledge and professional skills through cross training, literature review,attendance at department meetings and continuing education courses.
Â· Serveas a backup resource for Sr. Business Analyst responsibilities includingquality review of the calendar, coverage analysis and financial console.
Â· Equivalentcombination of education, training and experience will be considered forcandidates without a bachelorâs degree.
Â· Threeor more years of experience with any or all of the following: nursing, clinicaltrial budget development, Medicare billing guidelines, and/or working with aclinical trial management system.
Â· Strongknowledge of clinical processes, medical terminology, and the clinical researchlife cycle required.
