The Lukens Company (TLC) is seeking a versatile individual for a skilled Senior Account Director at our corporate headquarters in Arlington, VA. The Senior Account Director will work in a membership or development capacity – specifically handling or overseeing direct mail program. As well as have a solid understanding of direct response practices and strategies as it relates to museums, arts or other nonprofit organizations. This position reports directly to Vice President of Client Services.
TLC is an award-winning, full-service direct response agency that has been providing marketing and fundraising services to political and nonprofit clients for over 30 years. This open position is in the nonprofit division that partners with a variety of organizations such as museums, animal welfare, social welfare, aquariums/zoos, and faith-based missions.
Example of Account Management responsibilities:
Manage acquisition, renewal, lapsed, upgrade and annual fund mailings and telemarketing campaigns as determined by client
Oversee caging and fulfillment processes when needed
Work closely with Production Director/Manager to ensure accuracy and timeliness of all mailings
Work with Creative Design team on creation of all new packages and determine testing strategy and package concepts with Director of Client Services
Coordinate list recommendations with list brokers and help identify target markets and segmentation
Assist Director of Client Services on TLC annual costs and projections, budgeting process and monitor billings throughout the year
Create and maintain results reporting and provide strategic analysis to clients on a weekly basis
Conduct weekly conference calls with clients, as well as serve as day to day contact
Some occasional travel required to meet with existing clients
Example of Marketing Support responsibilities:
When needed, will provide support on marketing efforts for new business to include: Contacting potential clients, using existing contacts to generate new business leads, participation and support in RFP/proposal process.
Follow up on existing leads
Example of Management Support responsibilities:
Assist in the development and growth of personnel within the division
Oversee and mentor account executives and account managers
Goal – direct management of the entire Account Staff on Non-Profit, Arts & Cultural Division (see promotion potential above)
5-10 years of experience preferably in both traditional agency and brand direct consultative sales
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Must have functional knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Must be detail oriented, client focused, and can supervise employees
Ability to work under pressure
