Position Summary: The Finance Associate will provide support for EHF’s financial operations under the direction of the Chief Administrative Officer. The Finance Associate will assist with EHF’s financial oversight including performing finance and accounting tasks related to EHF’s daily, monthly, and annual needs. This is a part-time position requiring 15-25 hours of work per week.
Assist with ensuring EHF’s compliance with governmental, accounting, and organizational policies and procedures
Assist with preparing materials for stakeholders including executives and board committees
Assist in budget and cash flow preparation and reconciliation, including supporting executives in same
Assist with management of payroll, purchasing, and payables
Assist with contract management
Assist with the Foundation’s 990 and audit
Assist with maintaining financial records for EHF
Assist with financial operations to improve efficiency and accuracy as it relates to financial matters
NOTE: The Foundation engages the Episcopal Diocese of Texas to provide certain financial functions for the Foundation including but not limited to preparing regular financial statements, payroll services and supporting EHF in its annual audit, budget and required tax filings. The Finance Associate will work closely with diocesan staff.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required; CPA preferred
Knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Three or more years of experience with accounting
Knowledge and experience with not-for-profit organizations preferred
Basic understanding of IRS and other regulations pertaining to nonprofits
Ability to communicate accurately and effectively with staff and management
Sound judgment with regard to budget and program issues
Able to respond to questions and communicate information with clarity and work collaboratively with other staff
Highly proficient with Excel

Additional Salary Information: Salary will be set in accordance with the successful candidate’s experience. In addition to salary, the candidate will receive Episcopal Health Foundation’s employee benefits which include comprehensive health insurance coverage and a retirement plan to which the Foundation will contribute an amount equal to 9% of base salary.
