FEF is looking for an innovative, energetic professional who is excited about the mission and interested in joining a dynamic and innovative team. This work is both relationship-driven and externally focused and is a great fit for a professional who enjoys meeting new people. The ideal candidate will be creative, self-motivated and enthusiastic individual who, in partnership with the staff, will develop this role into an essential cog towards strengthening value for our unique FEF family while ensuring the long-term vitality of FEF’s essential mission. This position does include some national travel to board meetings, conferences, donor visits and other resource development activities. Additionally, this position offers workweek flexibility particularly when travel is necessary, along with professional development support.

That’s why FEF continues to focus on developing the donor base, enhancing “Key Professor”' engagement and expansion of student chapter activity, and increasing branding activities. FEF’s programs focus on developing the culture and promoting the mission of FEF and include: alumni affairs, directed campaigns, annual giving, industry and board engagement, advancing professor, school and student support, increasing networking and outreach opportunities, and expanding student recruiting. The Annual Giving and Relationship Manager position will play a key role in ensuring our mission and programs at FEF continue to evolve and expand to support of the metalcasting industry.
The new Manager will have the opportunity to work closely with FEF’s Director of Resource Development, a seasoned fund development professional and CFRE, to create and execute a successful annual giving program. Annual Giving Program
In partnership with the Director of Resource Development:
Assist in the development of yearly philanthropy planning, with a focus on the annual fund program strategies and special projects.
Develop strategies and analytics for Individual Giving multi- digital and direct mail campaigns for donors, such as Giving Tuesday.
Cultivate and grow annual donor base, make personal thank you and reminder calls and visits.
Sustain board member engagement program, interact with board via phone and face-to-face meetings.
Create and mail annual solicitation requests, renew grant requests, and create reports to define ROI on giving goals.
Support giving efforts through creation of solicitation lists, donor visitation reports, and graduation data/company lists.
Manage all gift data entry and gift acknowledgement letters, maintaining accuracy of Raiser’s Edge database.
Work with FEF’s banker to reconcile monthly financials.
Assist in development of promotional materials for fundraising projects and campaigns.
Key Professor and Student Relations Program
In partnership with the Director of Alumni and Academic Programs:
Ensure accurate and robust database records, including list management and reports activity.
Facilitate FEF funding procedures for Key Professor and metalcasting program students (scholarships, special grants, and program support)
Organize and support school certification activities, including travel to certifications and documentation reports.
Manage all required documents, forms, records and data related to FEF schools – via Raiser’s Edge database and Excel spreadsheets.
Work with FEF’s banker to reconcile monthly professor and budget financials.
Outreach Planning Program
In partnership with the FEF Team:
Assist with development and execution of an annual marketing plan – with a focus on social media and web content for branding FEF.
Assist in coordinating board/committee meetings – includes travel to meetings, special event organization, school contact, board outreach.
Lead for general customer assistance, supply activity, purchasing and coordination with IT service provider.
Assist in planning and details of annual FEF College Industry Conference – including attendance at 3-day event, coordination of students, and company interactions.
Assist in planning, executing and attending other American Foundry Society conferences, chapter meetings, alumni activities, and other FEF related outreaches.
Undergraduate degree and equivalent 3+ years relevant experience, in areas such as: sales; community, constituent, customer and/or donor relations
Highly organized with demonstrated ability to simultaneously balance deadlines and projects
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a small team environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Robly (eblast platform similar to Constant Contact), and various social media platforms
Track record of excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills, with sound judgment in prioritizing problems and opportunities
Experience with fundraising activities and / or, event planning, preferred
Knowledge of Raisers Edge (or similar relationship management software) preferred
Knowledge of not-for-profit program and infrastructure administration, as well as Board and Committee structures, preferred
