Walk Thru the Bible is a global ministry helping people live out God’s Word through innovative live events and transformational biblical resources. By training teachers to teach our events and resources to others, we advance biblical literacy and support the work of making disciples in 149 countries around the world.
We are searching for a Development Director for the eastern region. The Development Director is responsible for identifying, acquiring, retaining, cultivating and growing major donors to Walk Thru the Bible. A major donor is defined as someone who gives Walk Thru the Bible, on average, $10,000 a year. This is a remote position working from a home office in the eastern half of the U.S.
Primary responsibilities include:
Compellingly articulate the mission, vision, ministry, and funding needs of Walk Thru the Bible.
Secure financial support for the work of Walk Thru the Bible by utilizing the moves management cultivation strategy (identify, research, communicate, involve, ask, thank, report) in working with partners within the assigned territory.
Articulate effectively a “stewardship theology” that ministers to the partner and helps them to recognize and fulfill their role as stewards of God’s resources.
Identify and follow up on opportunities to present Walk Thru the Bible to new potential partners to ensure growth in ministry support within the territory. Networking capabilities are extremely important for growth of income.
Manage portfolio of major donors with the capacity to give at the $10,000 level and above. The Development Director will have the ability to successfully retain their partnership, and to increase their giving levels.
Plan and execute, with the help of Walk Thru the Bible international partners and the Major Donor Team, “Vision Trips” to the field for potential and current major donors.
Desired qualifications include:
Possess a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and conduct himself/herself in all situations in a manner that reflects his/her Christian faith.
Demonstrate the passion, commitment and personal qualities to promote and protect Walk Thru the Bible’s mission, vision, values, and goals.
At least 3-5 years of successful fundraising experience for a philanthropic or nonprofit organization preferred, or equivalent experience in a related field such as consultative sales or territory management.
Self-discipline to work independently in remote environment, but capacity to work effectively in team with other fundraising professionals.
Freedom and willingness to travel up to 40% of time, recognizing the value and need for personal visit and contact with current and prospective donors.
Telecommuting is allowed.
