TITLE: Association Executive
REPORTS TO: Board of Directors
BASIC FUNCTION: Serves as the salaried chief staff executive officer of the Association. Recommends and participates in the formulation of new policies and makes decisions within the existing policies as they have been approved by the Board of Directors. Plans, organizes, directs and coordinates the staff, programs and activities of the Association to assure that objectives are attained, plans fulfilled and member needs are met. Maintains effective internal and external relationships. The Association Executive shall not be actively engaged in the real estate business. Through management and leadership, achieves economical, productive performance, forward-looking programming and constructive growth of the Association.
AUTHORITY AND RESPONSIBILITIES: In addition to the duties herein provided, but not limited to, and within the limits of the Bylaws, the Association Executive is responsible for, and has commensurate authority to accomplish the duties set forth below:
See that the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and Officers are kept fully informed on the conditions and operations of the association, and on all important factors influencing them. Attends all meetings of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee.
Assists the President in planning, formulating and recommending for the approval of the Board of Directors basic policies and programs which will further the objectives of the Association.
Executes all decisions of the Board of Directors, except when other assignment is specifically made by the board.
Develops, for the purpose of day-to-day administration, specific policies, programs and procedures to implement the general policies established by the Board of Directors.
Establishes a sound organization structure of the Board Office.
Directs and coordinates all approved programs, projects and major activities of the Board staff.
Recruits, hires, indoctrinates, motivates and prescribes the duties of all Association staff personnel. Responsible to the Board of Directors for all staff personnel promotions and terminations; and operating within an annual salary budget approved by the Board of Directors.
Obtains maximum utilization of staff by clearly defining their duties, establishing performance standards, conducting performance reviews and maintaining competitive salary structure.
Provides the necessary liaison and staff support to committee chair persons and committees to enable them to properly perform their respective functions. See that committee decisions and/or recommendations are submitted to the Board of Directors for approval.
Executes such contracts and commitments as may be authorized by the Board of Directors or established policies.
Promotes interest and active participation in the Association’s activities on the part of the membership and reports activities of the Board and Association through communications media of the Association.
Maintains effective relationships with other Board of REALTORS®, and State and National Associations of REALTORS®.
In cooperation with the Budget & Finance Committee and Board of Directors approval, operates within an annual budget. Insures that all funds, physical assets, and other property of the Association are appropriately safeguarded and administered. Approves all budgeted administrative expenditure of Association Funds.
Conducts research on related projects, prepares reports and publishes the results on subjects deemed of importance to the membership.
In cooperation with the Education Committee, coordinates the development of education programs to advance the professional/technical/managerial skills of the membership, operating within budget and program objectives approved by the Board of Directors.
Performs a secretarial function for the Association, maintaining official minutes of the Board of Directors meetings and other official meetings of the organization. Provides security for all files, legal and historical documents, membership and mailing lists.
Is responsible for the planning, promotion and administration of all official meetings of the organization.
Plans and executes all communications to the general membership which includes newsletters, general mailings, news releases, etc.
Serves as a member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee exofficio, without the right to vote.
Maintains personal contacts with the membership to the greatest degree possible; visits member offices when feasible.
Carries out such other general responsibilities as may be delegated by the Officers and Board of Directors.
ACCOUNTABILITY: Is responsible to the Board of Directors for the administration of the association office; and for proper interpretation and fulfillment of all functions, responsibilities, authority and accountability. Applicant must have proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Quickbooks and other software systems used by the Association.

Additional Salary Information: AE is eligible for yearly performance-based bonus.
