Harvard Kennedy School is launching a new program initiative that will offer online courses for mid-career professionals. This program will expand the reach of HKS knowledge, ideas, skills and practices into the world and enable working professionals to become better equipped to advance the public good as leaders. As part of this work, we are looking for a creative, solutions-oriented team player to fill the role of Research and Content Manager.
The Research and Content Manager will be part of a matrix team consisting of designers and technologists who work closely with faculty and other HKS administrators and staff. This team's primary focus is on designing, developing, and delivering a series of online courses and an online capstone experience.
●Shape and scope content for online courses in leadership, evidence-based approaches to policy, and frameworks for policy design, under guidance from lead faculty.
●Collaborate with learning designers to document learning objectives and align course activities and assessments to those objectives.
●Identify course learning resources from a variety of sources and in a range of formats.
●Research and evaluate examples for authenticity, global diversity, and applicability to the content and activities of courses; help develop these examples into learning activities such as cases and simulations.
●Write outlines for text and video, scripts, and page content; suggest appropriate visuals to accompany text and audio.
●Design and write practice quizzes, question feedback, and other learning assessments.
●Manage workflow of student research assistants, including defining and communicating work goals, providing feedback, and integrating outputs into the course development work.
●Oversee content management system for the course design team, allowing the team to track the status of video, text and image inputs into the three courses.
This position is fully benefits eligible one- year term appointment, with the possibility of renewal.

Minimum of three years related professional experience
●Master's degree in public administration, public policy, or leadership development program
●3-5 years professional experience in public service, NGO, or nonprofit
●Prior experience with HKS faculty and programs
●Experience working with faculty in a college/university setting
●Experience and interest in teaching and learning, including online programs
●Strong research and writing skills, including writing for different audiences and purposes
●Ability to work with limited supervision in a fast-paced, ever-changing team environment
●Strong written and verbal communication skills, presentation skills, and project management skills
●Other responsibilities as assigned
