Under the direction of the Director of Continuing Education, the Program Manager is responsible for the development and management of continuing education conference programs. The Program Manager works closely with the Director and the Continuing Education team members on the program planning process and on individual program development and implementation. The Program Manager provides leadership by ensuring Program Committee deliverables are met along with providing administrative support to conference Program Committees during all phases of conference preparation.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Work closely with conference Program Committees to design education content appropriate for conference goals, current trends, and member needs.
2.Build relationships with key volunteer leaders and subject matter experts to further the development of Continuing Education programs.
3.Identify and recruit subject matter experts to serve as Program Committee members and leaders.
4.Provide program development support for Program Committees, as needed, on topic selection, speaker recruitment, industry and speaker resources, and adult education best practices.
5.Manage the event project timeline and work collaboratively with relevant departments to ensure completion of conference milestones and deliverables.
6.Create promotional copy for use in all conference marketing materials, including website content, email promotions, and print pieces.
7.Under the direction of the Director of Continuing Education, assist in the management of the conference proposal submission process for selected conferences.
8.Assist the Conference Speaker Coordinator with speaker management. 9.Manage all onsite education program activities during each conference.
10.Manage all post-conference communication and reporting activities.
11.Develop a working knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, its activities and priorities.
Education and Work Experience:
1.Five or more years of related experience in adult education, program and meeting planning, association management, and/or related field.
2.Knowledge of best practices for education program development and volunteer management. Project Management experience a plus.
3.Pharmaceutical or related industry a plus but not required.
3.Bachelor’s degree required.
1.Must be willing and able to travel to domestic and international events as required.
2.Must possess or be eligible for a US Passport.
