The Annual Fund Manager (AFM) is a full-time role that reports directly to the Chief Development Officer. The Annual Fund Manager manages the annual fund matrix while ensuring that all connected parties are abreast of timelines for successful execution of strategies.
Essential functions of the AFM include:
1. Cultivate, solicit, and steward annual fund donors.
2. Develop, manage, and execute the strategy for building relationships, increasing awareness, and stewarding gifts to meet annual fund revenue goals.
3. Research trends, strategize plans, and measure results.

Base Job Requirements:
This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, exemplary problem solving skills, strong time management and the capability of working both independently and as a member of a collaborative team. The ideal candidate will have three or more years’ experience fundraising in a nonprofit environment. An understanding of and experience in the human services field is a plus.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, human services, or related field; or associate’s degree with two years of experience in fundraising or institutional development or advancement.
Minimum two years’ experience in annual giving or relevant development function. Five years’ experience in development and/or fundraising/annual fund support and management in lieu of bachelor’s degree. Proficiency in data management systems and computer applications.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
Sits at work station for extended periods with continual concentration; is able to see video display terminals, utilize eye-hand coordination and fine motor skills for word processing. Communicates extensively both orally and in writing; may lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 lbs. Satisfactory physical examination and drug test
Microsoft Office and Adobe applications necessary. Extended familiarity with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat. Familiarity with other Adobe platforms (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) a plus. Strong development database skills; project management software familiarity;
Knowledge of fundraising principles, practices and techniques. Attention to detail. Strong organizational skills. Well-developed interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure to meet annual fund tasks and deadlines. Demonstrated analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.
Communicates effectively through clear speaking, writing, and effective listening. Ability to articulate, orally and through written communications, agency goals and programs. Ability to prepare proposals, business letters, summaries, and reports using prescribed format, and conforming to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction and style. (Writing samples requested – preferably direct solicitation letters and proposals.) Ability to communicate effectively with donors, prospects, volunteers, staff and the public. Ability to establish credibility of agency through all functions performed through office.
Ability to apply practical mathematics including fractions, percentages and ratios. Excellent organizational and project management skills.
Ability to function with minimal supervision, or collaboratively as part of a team, as well as strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Vendor management experience. Willingness to assist with whatever needs to get done for the success of the organization including weekly donor visits outside the office, and running errands
