Working closely with Director of Student Life & Diversity, the Student Activities Coordinator will assist with the day-to-day operations of the Office of Student Life & Diversity. This position also oversees the successful execution of campus and student association programming efforts through event planning and execution, supervising student employees and the ability to deal with the challenges of an extremely busy, diverse environment. The Student Activities Coordinator is also responsible for co-advising Student Senate. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field;
2 years of experience working with diverse populations on a college campus;
Demonstrated cultural competency and sensitivity to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, religious, gender identity, sexual orientation and ethnic backgrounds of college students, staff, and faculty;
Effective written and verbal communication skills sufficient to participate in discussions and communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel;
Experience using computers and software in a Windows environment;
Ability to track data in an organized and accurate manner, and report that data.
Master's Degree preferred in a relevant field (higher education, student personnel, counseling, leisure activities, nonprofit management, program/volunteer management, etc.);
Experience in a Student Life & Diversity setting on a college campus;
Previous experience managing or working with large budgets;
Knowledge of event planning and management;
Knowledge of conflict resolution skills.
