Southern New Hampshire University is currently seeking an Associate Director of Annual Giving who is responsible for increasing annual giving from SNHU alumni, family and friends through personalized outreach, donor relationship building, and targeted fund raising events such as crowdfunding. The Associate Director of Annual Giving will collaborate closely with colleagues in Alumni Engagement, Stewardship, and Advancement Communications to identify creative opportunities to engage alumni as resources for SNHU relevant to their experiences and interests.
This position will report to the Sr. Vice President of Institutional Advancement, and will play a critical role in helping create and implement donor outreach strategies that result in sustainable growth of annual and unrestricted giving.
Essential duties and responsibilities of this position include the following:
With a focus on increasing annual use giving, the Associate Director will identify, solicit and steward a portfolio of 75 to 100 annual gift prospects that demonstrate capacity for eventual movement to a major gift solicitation
The Associate Director is expected to make 125 – 150 face-to-face cultivation and solicitation meetings with donor prospects annually
Works closely with Advancement Communications and Stewardship teams to launch targeted crowd funding and other campaigns
In collaboration with the SNHU Athletics Department, will establish a long-term plan to increase annual support for SNHU varsity athletics programs
In close collaboration with the Alumni Engagement team, leverage alumni programming into SNHU’s strategy for annual giving
Work with SNHU’s Online Student Engagement team in the College of Online and Continuing Education (COCE) and Alumni Engagement to identify annual fund raising opportunities with COCE alumni
In collaboration with Advancement Services and Donor Stewardship, identify opportunities for renewing annual gift relations with lapsed donors
Bachelor’s degree in business, communications or related field
3 – 5 years’ experience in fund raising (preferably in higher education), alumni relations, or transferable skills
Exceptional communications skills including written, one-on-one, public speaking, and listening
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Must be able to prioritize time, manage projects, and adhere to deadlines
Typically Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm with flexibility to meet business demands as needed.
