About Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry
Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry (Aurora Food Pantry) is committed to providing nutritious food relief to our neighbors in a humanitarian and compassionate manner. Aurora Food Pantry is helping to end hunger in our community through effective programs and services most needed in our area. We believe access to fresh, nutritious food is everyone’s right. That’s why we distribute food 3 days a week, 51 weeks a year. While most pantries allow clients to visit every other week or once a month, clients may visit Aurora Food Pantry once every week. That way, if an unexpected need arises, no one has to wait for food.
At Aurora Food Pantry, clients select the food that best meets their needs. Modeled after a typical grocery store experience, clients take a cart and go up and down the aisles, selecting items. The number of items a client receives is determined by the size of their family and the stock available. By offering choice, less food goes to waste, clients can better plan meals for their families’ needs, and we are able to serve our community with dignity and compassion.
Founded in 1981, Aurora Food Pantry serves more than 19,000 unique people annually at its 18,000 square fo...ot facility. We seek candidates passionate about human services and who will help us realize our mission: To help end local hunger by ensuring that everyone has access to enough nourishing food, thereby helping our overall community stay healthy and productive.
