The Director, Finance, Operations & Administration is an integral member of the Stewardship and Development team. Every action and donor interaction is a reflection of the archdiocese. For many individuals, this department is the first connection to the archdiocese. The department manages the annual parish offertory, the Annual Catholic Appeal (“ACA”), the To Teach Who Christ Is capital campaign now in the fulfillment phase, scholarship endowment funds and more.
The position of Director requires a candidate with strong financial management experience in a nonprofit organization’s stewardship, development and/or advancement department, along with professional communications and interpersonal relationship building skills.
Prepare annual budget for Stewardship and Development Department.
Prepare financial and operating metrics, timely and accurate cash forecasting and financial reporting for the Stewardship & Development for the Pastoral Center.
Responsible for accurately and timely reporting on pledges and the management of funds.
Create and monitor budget for Department’s full-time employees and third-party vendor costs and providing actual to budget variance reporting.
Provide timely and accurate financial reporting for major capital campaigns and other initiatives and special events.
Contract with third party vendors for services, with particular focus on appropriate contractual arrangements for fulfillment services and online giving.
Provide reconciliation and financial oversight of fulfillment for still outstanding on the TTWCI pledges.
Manage and oversee payments for Second Collections.
Working closely with the Finance, Information Technology departments and Database Administrator, lead critical gift stream process upgrade project for the Stewardship and Development Department. This role includes oversight over the interface between new systems and processes, including the automation of revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP.
Develop proper documentation and tracking for donor designated funds.
Working with Office of Catholic Schools senior management, create appropriate controls and reporting for the major endowment fund for Catholic education scholarships and the current portion of that endowment.
Oversee all invoice reconciliation and processing, as well as processes for the enhancement of data integrity.
BS in Finance or Accounting (CPA a plus)
Minimum 7 years of experience, with strong financial management experience in a nonprofit organization’s development department required
At least five years of experience supervising employees in a nonprofit setting
Strong skills in Excel, PowerPoint and donor databases
Process-oriented with strong critical thinking skills; ability to analyze issues objectively and create processes surrounding those issues
Supervisory experience required
Strong communication and interpersonal relations skills. Ability to work interdepartmentally with other teams
Professionalism, good judgment and organization are essential qualities for this role
