Theposition serves as a key team member of the NIH funded initiative, theUndiagnosed Diseases Network. The Research Coordinator will report to the SiteCoordinator. The Research Coordinator will provide support to both theadministrative and clinical teams. The role involves the following functions:
Â·Completeacceptance calls with patients
Â·Workwith clinical team to create patient-specific visit plans
Â·Draftclinical orders for Nurse Practitioner to finalize
Â·Associatepatients to the research study in the EMR
Â·Enterbilling notes in EMR for research evaluations
Â·Workwith research staff to schedule travel logistics for patient visits (travel andaccommodations)
Â·Prepareand submit IRB submissions
Â·Ensurepatient privacy & study compliance with applicable regulations
Â·AssistApplicants Coordinator with preparation for chart reviews
Â·Enterdata into study database and local systems (ex. Microsoft OneNote)
Â·Assistwith UDN meeting set-up and facilitation
Â·Assistwith other research administrative duties as assigned
Theapplicant must have research coordination background and applicable skills withemphasis on: Professional communication, strong organizational skills, andcritical thinking/problem solving. Applicant must be able to handle multiplehighly detailed projects simultaneously with overlapping timelines. Mustbe able to problem solve independently. The role requires functionalknowledge of research activities in the EMR and of the research enterprise atVanderbilt and institutional research systems (ESMART; CRC scheduler; EPIC).Must be comfortable communicating with MD's, PhD's, Genetic counselors, NursePractitioners, nurses and other clinical staff as well as CRC, UDN Core labs,and local lab staff. Needs to be detail oriented, a strong communicator,comfortable with electronic systems such as workload management & teamcollaboration apps, and wants to work as part of a team.
Bachelor'sDegree (or equivalent experience) and 1 years experience
