HUMAN RESOURCES (HR) COORDINATOR , Microsystems Technology Laboratories (MTL) , to coordinate HR and community engagement activities across MTL and provide support to Microsystems Industrial Group (MIG) members. Will act as a liaison to central HR offices on the administration of policies/procedures; advise/assist faculty and staff on interpreting and applying personnel policies/ procedures; review, approve, and process new appointments/hires/extensions/raises/promotions/terminations; manage visa applications, extensions, and renewals for foreign nationals; handle onboarding/orientation; coordinate annual performance review process; maintain personnel files/records/data; partner on the creation/revision of position descriptions; work with administrative officer on conflict resolution, performance management, and performance plan development; set up independent contractors/temporary employees; and perform a variety of other HR-related duties. Event/outreach duties will include assuring that events are effectively organized, communicated, and produced; working with vendors, Facilities' staff, MIT event producers, etc.; providing logistical support from conception through completion; and assisting in developing plans for fostering strong relationships among MTL faculty, students, researchers, and alumni and with MIG member companies and representatives.
REQUIRED : bachelor's degree in a related field; at least three years' HR experience; exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills; meticulous attention to detail; strong organizational skills; ability to multitask, develop and manage project timelines, and work effectively under pressure; excellent communication skills and consistently accurate use of English language and grammar in written and oral communications; experience supervising vendors; proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; sound judgment; ability to work independently, collaboratively, and cross-functionally; and solid listening, facilitation, and mediation skills. MIT experience strongly preferred. Experience using Adobe Photoshop, Cognos, SAP, or their equivalents preferred; as is project/events management experience in higher education or other nonprofit environment. Job #16444-N
