The Education Manager guides the direction for all educational programs and is an essential position to the operations of Texas AGD. Leading the Education Division, the Manager is a versatile member of the Education Division and the entire team. Working independently, the Manger will position Texas AGD as the leading organization for general dentists and will create and maintain positive relationships on behalf of Texas AGD to all members, other shareholders, and the press.
This position will have the responsibility of managing all Texas AGD education programs to members, leadership, and partners throughout Texas. It is important that the Manager use good judgment in decisions that will affect the organization, the Texas AGD Board of Directors, the Executive Director and the members. This position reports to the Executive Director.
Identifies, develops, manages, and evaluates all educational programs in conjunction with the Executive Director and volunteer leaders to ensure alignment with strategic plan. This includes the statewide programs of MasterTrack, BusinessTRACK, New Dentist Conference, Lone Star Dental Conference, online offerings, and other newly developed programs. Coordinates with other team members and volunteers to accomplish the planning, marketing, budgeting, and reconciliation of these programs.
Manages local component education program requests in conjunction with local leaders. Coordinates with other team members and committee members to accomplish the planning, marketing, budgetary, and reconciliation of these programs.
Manages the educational program requests with volunteer leaders in local components for the implementation and evaluation of the FellowTrack and New Dentist Study Clubs. Works with other team members and committee members to accomplish the planning, marketing, budgetary, and reconciliation of these programs.
Manages PACE program. Ensures TAGD and local component compliance, applications are processed, monitored, and maintained. In addition, develops outreach to increase the level of applications processed to meet budgetary goals.
Manages online webinar programs to ensure PACE compliance, develop new offerings, and evaluate the effectiveness of courses. Includes coordination with webinar provider.
Working in the capacity of an academic advisor, collaborates with members for attainment of Fellowship and Mastership. Provides transcript review assistance, identifies, encourages, and recruits members for attainment of FAGD and MAGD. Analyzes education and training needs of stakeholders to identify topics and delivery methods to effectively meet those needs.
In conjunction with meeting planner, other team members, volunteer leaders and committee members, manages Education, MasterTrack, BusinessTRACK, New Dentist, and Lone Star Committees, and any other educational based task forces.
Manages procurement of speakers for TAGD. Negotiates and secures all speaker contracts, manages the collection of all educational materials for program, coordinates their needs for A/V and sets, secures accommodations, etc.
Manages enrollment and registration process in TAGD education programs and conferences. Working with team members and volunteers to increase attendance based on demographics and educational needs.
Working in conjunction with meeting planner and other team members and volunteers, finalizes all logistics (sets, A/V needs, banquet event orders (BEO’s), program schedule, etc.) for TAGD education programs.
Assists in identifying emerging trends in dentistry and scouts for potential speakers through monitoring industry publications and web sites, and attending dental conferences . Includes managing speaker database input and updates. Sharing knowledge of speakers with volunteers planning CE.
Manages and develops evaluation process for education programs. Evaluates effectiveness of overall educational experience and recommends adjustments as needed.
Responsible for TAGD educational budget creation, tracking, forecasting, and meeting financial goals.
Manages and oversees one full time staff position
Develops and submits quarterly divisional dashboard report
Develops, implements, and monitors systems and procedures necessary for the smooth operation of the division.
Works with the entire team to execute success at conferences.
Attends outside conferences and meetings necessary to promote education and membership
Assists in maintaining website content for education programs
Remains fully knowledgeable of all TAGD programs, membership benefits, and dues structure to answer inquiries and to assist with general inquiries and promote membership to nonmembers.
Assists in site locations, contract negotiations with hotels, and overall onsite program execution.
Occasionally conducts research and carries out special projects under the direction of the Executive Director, i.e. special member requests, etc.
Provides phone support and routine customer service for general inquiries as needed.
On occasion, assists the Executive Director with speaking responsibilities to the association’s stakeholders.
Organizes and manages all divisional electronic and print files
Monitor and organize educational office supplies
Monitors and organizes work tickets for building maintenance
Performs other managerial and administrative tasks, along with general office duties as assigned
Cultivates and sustains positive relations with local, state, and national team members and volunteers remotely, by electronic communication, and in person to further develop TAGD as the voice of the general dentist. As with all the staff positions at TAGD, this position requires a strong ability to represent the organization in a professional manner and communicate effectively with TAGD staff, members, leaders and other stakeholders.

DESIRED TRAINING & SKILLS
The minimum educational requirement is a Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university, preferably with a focus in adult education or business management. A minimum of 10 years of applied knowledge in managing education programs can be utilized in lieu of.
4-6 years of work experience in creating and implementing successful educational programs. Knowledge of dental or medical profession a plus.
3-4 years of work experience preferred at a professional association
2-3 years of work experience in planning multiple day educational events
Strong demonstrated ability in developing and implementing online and in person educational programs
Demonstrated ability to manage a division and staff
Strong demonstrated experience in organizational skills and project management skills, including the ability to effectively meet multiple deadlines and maintain strategic direction of projects. Including evaluation of project and recommendations for improvement.
Strong working knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, financials, and contract negotiation.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint), online applications and client management systems.
Ability to work independently
Effective oral and written communication skills, including public speaking and volunteer/leadership training experience.
Strong ability to work effectively with members and staff; and must possess a service oriented attitude.
Employee must be able to lift up to (40) lbs.
Travel Requirement: At short notice, successful candidate will be available for evening and weekend work and may travel up to 20% of the time.
