This is a full-time position and is responsible for the financial and accounting matters of the Foundation. Also includes investment management oversight and investment policy development and asset allocation. Major areas of responsibility include recording of transactions in the financial records of the community foundation using FIMS, (fund accounting software), internal and external financial and tax reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and accounting systems and procedures. This role works with the Investment and Audit Committees.
The CFO must work well as a member of the staff and be successful in maintaining key relationships with the above mentioned board committees, outside investment advisors and financial institutions, outside auditors, in a manner that builds trust, commitment, and promotes shared mission.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting with significant fund accounting experience preferred. Minimum of five years of experience wither working in industry or public accounting. CPA is strongly preferred. Significant track record of progressively responsible accounting and financial management experience. Evidence of success in managing projects and systems. Experience working and managing boards and committees a plus.
Strong ability to use a variety of computer software, including but not limited to FIMS, Word, Excel, Power Point.

Understand and reconcile investments
Perform entity consolidation, research complex charitable gifts and proper accounting thereof
Create multi-year financial projections and budgets including stress test and what-if analyses
Assess and create efficient agency-wide operating procedures while keeping in mind best practices and maintaining separation of duties with limited staff
Create and coordinate the request for proposals process for banking, investment advisory services, internet technology services, audit and tax preparation services, and software systems
Review and assess form 990 information return
Understanding nonprofit financial statement reporting standards and disclosure requirements
Prepare and process payroll including required tax filings and benefits payments
Coordinate and manage multiple volunteer committees in charge of audit and finance and investments
Create executive summaries and dashboard reports reflecting financials, investments, and related activity
Create policies related to investments, finances, internet technology, and general operations
Calculate fair market value of donated securities and net present value of charitable trusts and pledges receivable
Interact comfortably with a wide variety of constituents and communicate appropriately and effectively in person, on the telephone, and in writing
Work with confidential information such as contributions and other related communications
Work successfully as part of a team, as well as assume independent responsibilities with minimal supervision
Coordinate several projects simultaneously within a strict time frame
