Scope of Role
As part of a small organization, the Human Resources and Talent Manager will have the opportunity to wear many hats at CFSI. The role contributes to all aspects of motivating, managing, and retaining people at our organization. From bringing in talented individuals by running our talent acquisition processes, to working in partnership with the VP of Organizational Effectiveness to develop training and development initiatives, the position supports the spectrum of talent acquisition, talent management, and human resources operations needs of the organization.
This role will be based in CFSI's Chicago office.
Duties & Responsibilities
Human Resources Operations
Serve as the first point of contact for employees relative to human resources policies, procedures and matters of concern
Conduct new employee orientations and ensure all paperwork and files for new hires are processed and stored according to protocol
Conduct exit interviews and handle process for separating with employees
Create reports and analyze data which may include turnover, exit survey responses, and headcount reports
Assist with coordination and execution of year end activities, including promotions, transfers, compensation, and performance calibrations
Ensure legal and contractual compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable HR laws and regulations by location (federal, state, local)
Support the payroll process by providing accurate and timely updated benefits, salary, and leave information to accounting
Manage benefits administration through strong vendor management and manage benefits enrollment process each year
Special projects as assigned/requested
Leads hiring process by coordinating job postings on websites, reviewing resumes, screening and interviewing candidates for assigned positions, and coordinating reference and background checks with third party administrator
Partner with hiring managers to ensure a smooth recruiting and onboarding process
Maintain various reports/metrics for candidate referral sources, posting sites/resources, recruiting expenses
Special projects as assigned/requested
Lead performance management process to include; project management, administration of our performance management software, answering questions, train employees, and development of education and tools
Assist with scheduling, materials development and coordination of all training and development projects
Assist with compiling talent management reports to include succession planning and talent analytics
Lead special projects, as assigned
5 years of experience in progressive human resources, experience with recruitment and talent management required
Outstanding ability to coordinate and perform both routine and complex administrative duties with strong attention to detail
2- 5 years experience managing payroll and benefits administration
Excellent project and stakeholder management skills
Excellent interpersonal skills to appropriately represent organization in person and on the telephone
Experience working with nonprofits a plus
Demonstrated ability to earn trust and appropriately handle confidential and sensitive information
High level of energy and the ability to work well with all across the organization
Ability to multi-task and be highly proactive around all functions of human resources, talent acquisition and talent management initiatives
Expert MS Office and Google software skills, experience with applicant tracking software, and strong technical/computer skills
Superior grammar, editing and proofreading skills
Strong professionalism, diplomacy, composure and flexibility
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
