The Keough School of Global Affairs is seeking applications for a scholar-practitioner who will contribute to research and teaching programs in two inter-related units of the School: the Notre Dame Initiative for Global Development (NDIGD) and the McKenna Center for Human Development & Global Business. NDIGD works to address global poverty and inequality through policy, practice, and partnership. The McKenna Center works with corporate, educational and development partners to promote corporate policies and practices worldwide that stimulate economic growth and develop markets in societies that struggle with poverty, underemployment and inequality. Both units foster collaboration – among the private sector, government, universities and nonprofit development and humanitarian organizations – to advance integral human development. This will be a professional faculty position, with a designation of professor of the practice (the rank commensurate with experience).
The responsibilities of this position include:
Teaching: The professor of the practice will teach 2 courses annually in the Keough School curriculum in the area of Human Development and Global Business, including one or more of the following sub-themes: Social Entrepreneurship and cross-sector partnerships; Organizational Effectiveness; Business Ethics (e.g., Values Based Organizations, Ethics in Development, etc. The position will assist NDIGD and the McKenna Center in building out more offerings within the Keough School related to the theme of Business in Development. In addition, the professor of the practice will lead efforts to design and implement a new Summer Institute with courses on global development practice.
Research: This position will lead NDIGD and McKenna Center efforts to conduct research and publish on the theme of Business in Development. In addition, this faculty position will publish research in areas of her/his expertise and will apply for and work on funded research grants as applicable.
Service/Practice: This position will serve as the faculty director for writing, reviewing, and publishing case studies that leverage NDIGD's strong external partnerships worldwide. The new case studies will serve to bolster the growing efforts of the Keough School of Global Affairs to develop case studies by creating new case study resources directly with non-profits and private sector partners that can be used to teach Keough School students and external audiences worldwide. The product will be a series of case studies that bring students inside real experiences of international global development issues.

Qualifications Applicants for this position may come from any related discipline in economics, business, public policy or from the social sciences, more generally. In addition to relevant teaching and research experience, they should have an advanced degree in a relevant discipline, and firm grounding in topics of development practice and/or policy.
