Trinity Services Inc., an award winning, nonprofit human services organization located in New Lenox, Illinois is seeking to fill the Chief Financial Officer position, created through the retirement of its current incumbent.
The Chief Financial Officer, while reporting directly to the President/CEO, will be part of a team of Executive Leadership staff that have operational responsibility for the organization. As such maintaining and strengthening a positive workplace culture is a must.
The CFO provides leadership and support to the Finance Department as well as providing leadership and direction to the organization in such matters as financial planning; budget development and management; cost benefit analysis; utilization of key financial performance indicators; oversees the organization’s transaction processing systems; and maintains positive relationships with the entire management team.

Services include residential services, education, community day services, in home supports, employment services, and outpatient therapy supports.
Trinity is a statewide organization in Illinois, employs over 1,000 employees and has an operating budget of $54 million.
Monitor and account for diverse funding sources, including local, state, federal, private insurance and private grants/donations.
Leads, supervises and promotes the growth and skills of the Finance Department Team Members.
With the Leadership Team prepares an operating budget and provides cost analysis support and compliance with all State of Illinois legislative and programmatic rules and regulations, etc., includes federal, state and local contractual guidelines.
Provides timely and accurate financial reports. Coordinates all fiscal reporting activities for the organization including: revenue/expense and balance sheet reports, reports to funding agencies, development and monitoring or organizational and contract/grant budgets.
Oversee all purchasing, payroll and timekeeping activities.
Demonstrate a knowledge and familiarity with payroll services systems.
Coordinate all real estate acquisition, disposition and financing.
Ensure adequate internal controls exist and that substantiating documentation is approved and available so that all expenses will pass independent and government audits.
Coordinate all audit activities.
Remain up to date on nonprofit audit best practices, state and federal laws regarding 501c3s.
Monitor banking activities of the agency and ensure adequate cash flow.
Responsible for financial risk management for the agency, assessing business insurance plans and employee health care insurance coverage analysis.
Participates as a full member of the organizations executive management team
Maintains knowledge of and implements best practices for organizational operations.
Prepares financial reports for the Board of Directors.
Monitors cash balances and cash forecasts.
Master’s degree or equivalent from and accredited college or university, preferably with an emphasis in business, finance or accounting.
Five to seven years of progressively responsible experience as a CFO, fiscal manager or currently serving in a highly responsible financial role.
Management experience in the day to day operations of a large or major organization.
Extensive work experience in a nonprofit organization is preferred.
Experience and expertise with accounting software applications and Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledgeable with respect to State of Illinois funding and familiar with HUD financial reporting requirements.
Has positive demeanor and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Possess excellent problem solving skills, is creative and will find meaning in the position.
