SEEKING DIRECTOR OF MARKETING: The nonprofit Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) is seeking a full-time Director of Marketing at its national office in the metro Atlanta area. The Director of Marketing crafts our brand image and message and is the marketing face for the WBCA both internally and externally. This individual will participate as a member of the senior staff, serving as the staff expert in messaging and brand value. The Director of Marketing will manage the Manager of Marketing Communications, the Manager of Digital Media, and the manager of Membership Registration. They will also work with the sport’s governing bodies on behalf of the WBCA.

Create and implement a content marketing plan for WBCA communications, including social media, blog, e-marketing, landing pages, etc., with the intent of driving traffic to the WBCA website, promoting member engagement, and providing outstanding online experiences to WBCA members throughout the year;
Write engaging marketing content that supports the Association’s mission and industry efforts. This includes, but is not limited to, editorial, narrative and social media style content;
Write promotional emails around membership billing, the WBCA Convention and other events to assure high levels of awareness and attainment of WBCA membership and registration goals;
Work with Director of Communications to create promotional materials for WBCA events and membership; and
Work with WBCA staff to find the best ways to communicate Association news, deadlines, event information and promotions.
Create and implement the Association’s brand strategy;
Enforce the WBCA brand and visual identities, ensure its appropriate use in all forms of communication, and approve the use of WBCA marks by external parties; and
Work with Director of Communications to create “the look” of the WBCA Convention, as well as other events and programs, and design or oversee the design of all necessary signage, printed materials and multimedia presentations.
Work with the Director of Communications to develop association communication plan;
Assist with the WBCA website (WBCA.org) ensuring all content is accurate, timely and reads with a consistent voice. Manage relationships with site developers, technical maintenance provider and host;
Work with the Director of Communications to design, write or edit, and/or otherwise review and approve all WBCA communications, including website content, electronic publications, event scripts, speeches, documents and reports, press releases and other external communications;
Monitor the needs of the WBCA membership and continually evaluate communication offerings to better serve the membership and increase membership; and
Serve as an information source for outside constituencies, including affiliated associations, businesses and individuals.
Prepare and manage budget in the various areas of responsibility;
Manage and assist with programming and events during the WBCA National Convention (required travel one-week March/April timeframe); and
Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director and Deputy Director.
Alignment and enthusiastic support of the “mission, vision, and values” of the WBCA.
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years’ professional experience in communications, marketing or a related field.
Demonstrated work experience in managing content for electronic and print communications platforms.
Exceptional oral and written communications skills.
Excellent computer skills with proficiencies in Adobe Creative Cloud applications (specifically Dreamweaver, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), web page design and social networking knowledge.
Experience in public/media relations.
Excellent ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, including senior management, staff, media and, most importantly, WBCA members.
