PROGRAM MANAGER, MIT-DENMARK PROGRAM, Center for International Studies (CIS)-MIT International Science and Technology Initiatives (MISTI), to handle the day-to-day management and overall development of the MIT-Denmark Program. Will manage all aspects of the student internship and other student programs, including advertising, recruiting MIT students, matching students with opportunities in Denmark, and training students on culture and workplace norms; cultivate relationships with potential host organizations in Denmark (companies, universities, research institutions and nonprofits); identify new prospective funding sources for the program, develop relationships with potential sponsors, and organize activities to steward current donors; and collaborate with other units on campus, serve as a resource on Denmark for the MIT community, and promote the program as a hub of Denmark-related activity on campus.
REQUIRED: a B.A./B.S. (M.A./M.S. preferred) and at least three years’ experience; good cross-cultural communication skills including excellent command of written and spoken Danish and English; solid knowledge of Denmark’s corporate, higher education, and research systems; ability to grasp and communicate broad picture of the program to students, faculty, and potential partners/sponsors; strong interpersonal skills; ability to work as part of a larger team, prioritize tasks, schedule and account for complex intern travel arrangements, schedule meetings, and manage multiple tasks under pressure; skill using Microsoft Office applications and willingness to learn database and web editing software; and discretion and good judgment with confidential information/ issues. Knowledge of other Scandinavian countries and languages a plus, as is demonstrated interest in international education and/or intercultural communication.
