Volunteers of America Northern Rockies (VOANR) is excited to announce the opening of the search for their next Chief Development Officer. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a great leadership team and wonderful organization at a good-to-great moment in its on-going season of growth. A priority hire for VOANR as it seeks to fully professionalize its fundraising department, this position will report to CEO Jeff Holsinger and serve in strategic leadership alongside a passionately committed executive team including the CEO, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Financial Officer.
With a mission “To compassionately serve and strengthen individuals by empowering them to build healthy and happy lives,” this Christian, faith-based community service organization is guided by a professional staff and committed volunteers who help create strong families and thriving communities through progressive holistic programs by lending a hand up, not a handout.
VOANR’s staff and transformational services stretch across three-states – Wyoming, Montana, and part of South Dakota – one of the largest geographical charters of any Volunteers of America chapter nationwide. Having been on an unprecedented growth trajectory for the last 15 years which continues today, VOANR is ready to take their development efforts to the next level in order to meet increasing service opportunities in the communities where they operate. Based at VOANR’s beautiful headquarters at the foot of the Big Horn Mountains in Sheridan, Wyoming, the new CDO will have the opportunity to develop and implement the organization’s first strategic fundraising plan while unifying and professionalizing VOANR’s advancement functions across the organization and its three-state region.
The successful candidate will have previous senior leadership experience in fundraising with proven expertise in areas including strategic development planning, major gifts, planned giving, board engagement, team building, and marketing oversight. A substantial portion of VOANR’s current funding comes from a well-diversified government portfolio including grants and contracts for service, as well. An important aspect to VOANR’s highly dynamic and fast-paced “church without walls” culture is their passion for holistic transformation through diverse human services.
