Strategic leader for the fundraising team for the Silver School of Social Work (SSW) in partnership with the Dean of SSW. Develop and manage prospects rated $100K and higher who are aligned with School priorities. Ensure that all assigned prospects are engaged and that unassigned prospects are properly monitored and assigned as appropriate to centralized UDAR gift officers in order to improve the percent of rated prospects who have received a visit and have been solicited. Place emphasis on the Dean's activities to cultivate and fundraise $1M+ gifts from major and principal gift donors in support of the school's work, capital needs, scholarships and university fundraising campaign. Support the Dean's portfolio of prospects and donors through strategy and documented moves. Work closely with the Dean to effectively utilize the Dean's Council as a strategic engagement and retention tool for prospects and donors. Carry a portfolio of 50 to 70 active prospects for the school and collaborate University-wide based on donor's interests, as appropriate. Participate in leadership discussions for the school and university development and alumni relations. Liaise with university development teams supporting the school's efforts including global, corporate and foundation fundraising, principal gifts, annual fund, and planned giving. Coordinate with leadership staff at the Silver School to increase alumni and civic engagement in the School. Incrementally increase fundraising outcomes from $2 to $8m annually over the next three to five years measured by agreed upon metrics.
Required Education: Bachelor's degree
Preferred Education: N/A
Required Experience: 10 years' progressively responsible experience in development, at least 5 of which must be in a managerial capacity, or equivalent combination. Must include experience raising seven figure gifts and supporting a dean or leader with a nonprofit.
Preferred Experience: Experience in an academic environment working with faculty and deans.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability and experience in managing a large staff and interacting with a diverse population. Demonstrated ability to strategize, interact effectively with alumni, faculty, donors, and officers, and to meet fundraising goals.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Strong knowledge in the Silver School of Social Work content areas.
