Under the general direction of the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Educational Partnerships (AVCEP) in the Center for Educational Partnerships (CFEP), the Student Achievement Guided by Experience (SAGE) Scholars Program Director is responsible for planning, managing, and evaluating the SAGE Scholars Program, a multifaceted comprehensive program that provides: leadership and professional skills training; preparation for graduate and professional school; and paid internships and financial assistance from corporate and nonprofit sponsors for UCI students with significant financial need. The Director will promote the program through personal presentations and other written and oral communication with appropriate corporate executives, university students and administrators, the UC Office of the President (UCOP) and other UC campuses. The Director is also responsible for program design and implementation, publications/public relations/liaison activities, evaluation, supervision of student staff, and budgetary planning. This includes preparing annual reports, preparing budgets, and developing relations with corporate and campus partners. The Director will teach courses and assess student needs, goals, problems, and personal adjustments relating to or affecting their academic performance, working directly with campus departments if need arises.The Director is also responsible for planning and executing a corporate relations program, designed to secure private financial support to UC Irvine for undergraduate scholarships and internships. This position will direct and manage campus gift solicitation activity with corporate prospects. This position will also support the vision of strategically engaging industry to substantially improve UCI's ability to retain and attract the best faculty and students, drive new investment into the university to fund our mission, and support the retention, academic success and leadership development of undergraduates with a focus on low-income, first generation students. Responsibilities for each of these functional areas include:Analytical support to the AVCEP relative to the retention, development and corporate relationship strategies;Personnel management of program and student staff;Planning, management; fiscal; operations; evaluation and dissemination; expansion and development;Financial management, directing and supervising budget development for various program initiatives and controlling expenditures;Continuing resource development through formal grant applications to external funding agencies as well as acquiring new corporate gifts and internships; and,Program evaluation.The University of California, Irvine is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer advancing inclusive excellence.
