Blue Sky Bakery & Cafe, a nonprofit organization that helps at-risk youth become self-sufficient by providing transitional employment, is looking for a new team member! The part-time Case Manager will play an invaluable role by managing Blue Sky's employment program, which includes both internal programming and external placements for our amazing youth.
The responsibilities of the Case Manager include but are not limited to:
Establishing and maintaining external collaborations with individuals and businesses to develop employment, job shadowing and internship opportunities for young adults, primarily in the foodservice industry
Intakes and assessments of youth in order to link individuals to services that support goals leading to stability and self-sufficiency
Implementing client engagement strategies that strengthen the case management relationship
Providing assertive case management services to a case load of youth, who experience issues related to homelessness, recovery, harm reduction, chronic health needs, employment, and mental health
Implementing job preparedness programming
Developing and maintaining database/inventory of employment, training, and internship opportunities
Maintaining appropriate data collection and reporting as required for internal management reports and external funding sources and regulatory agencies, including weekly logs, documentation of services/linkages, post-graduation data, etc.
Attending all staff meetings and planning meetings
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Proven ability to engage in strategic program development and long-term planning
Experience facilitating group work and discussions among young adults
Ability to embrace a strength-based approach to youth and community development within an urban context
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be able to communicate effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and needs
Ability to keep accurate records and statistics
Experience and Qualifications:
Passionate about community-based, youth development work
Familiarity with foodservice preferred but not mandatory
Required: Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Youth Development, or related field; Master's preferred; LSW or LPC a plus
Experience working in job development, job placement, and/or job training is preferable. Experience working with young adults (16-24 years old) is mandatory.
