The Alumni Engagement Officer serves as a primary source of communication, connection, and outreach to specific populations of alumni for the purpose of increasing alumni engagement in event attendance, volunteering, and also financial support of APU. In addition, this role supports the development and implementation of alumni engagement initiatives and provides support to the Office of Alumni Engagement's special projects, events, and programs that will help to track, measure, and increase alumni engagement at APU.
A minimum of three to five years of professional work experience in nonprofit management, development, alumni relations, volunteer management, marketing, public relations, sales or similar professional work experience required.
Demonstrated experience in planning and managing programs required.
Demonstrated experience planning and executing events required.
Primary Duties/Essential Functions
Alumni Engagement Outreach
Conduct regular email outreach to alumni and meet weekly alumni engagement goals for correspondence and information updates.
Manage a roster of alumni either based on specific population, program, location, or affinity.
Meet with alumni either in person, virtually, or over the phone to fulfill key performance indicators related to alumni contacts for the purpose of growing their connection and sharing the opportunities for engagement with the institution.
Recruit volunteers to increase alumni engagement and participation in recruitment events, career related events, and other alumni volunteer pieces.
Utilize LinkedIn Sales Navigator for the purpose of sourcing alumni for potential recruitment efforts with admissions and updates for class notes in APU Life Magazine.
Create and execute customized engagement outreach to increase alumni participation in Homecoming, Reunions, and any other alumni sponsored events.
Manage LinkedIn Sales Navigator outreach by sending regular messages to alumni who receive job changes and promotions, tracking that data and sending congratulatory emails.
Maintain relationships with alumni, volunteer leadership, faculty and administrators to advance efforts.
Regular, punctual attendance as required by the supervisor based on department needs (evenings/weekends when required).
Performs other duties as required by the supervisor.
Develop, implement, and sustain specific projects for the Office of Alumni Engagement to fulfill the goals and strategy of the department including volunteer management, event management, regional outreach, population specific strategies, and other alumni initiatives.
Administer feedback surveys for all alumni programs and activities using the Net Promoter Score. Communicate with detractors on the Net Promoter Score.
Partner with University Advancement to ensure that all alumni engagement data is being tracked
