Sharing in the broad vision of the mission of Shriners Hospitals for Children - Sharing in the broad vision of the mission of Shriners Hospitals for Children® – Boston, the Donor Development Assistant is responsible for administrative operations of the development department; including donor cultivation and stewardship activities, gift processing, donor acknowledgment, and donor database management. The overall management of our Blackbaud CRM system is a major responsibility, as well as understanding the importance of prospect research and relationship building, as related to the development process. This position reports to the Director of Development.
Process donations and prepare acknowledgement letters and other correspondence.
Maintain foundation, corporation and individual donor files.
Create monthly fundraising reports and other database reports as needed.
Continually update and correct database records.
Conduct preliminary research on prospective corporate foundation and individual donors.
Coordinate productions and mailing of donor reports and appeal letters.
Event planning or project management experience.
Maintain guest lists, gather and prepare registration materials and other duties as assigned for fund-raising events.
Handle all administrative details associated with the Board of Governors Development Committee (i.e. prepare and distribute notices, agendas, minutes, etc.).
Assemble donor kits for events and meetings.
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Development.
Training and Experience:
Minimum three years development experience is required.
Nonprofit development experience required.
Experience with Blackbaud CRM, Raiser’s Edge or equivalent database system.
Excellent Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
Skilled in basic desktop publishing using Adobe Photoshop, InDesign or similar software.
Experience working with high level donor and volunteers.
