Tufts University School of Dental Medicine is looking for an Alumni Relations Coordinator to join the Office of Development and Alumni Relations. Our office serves the Tufts Alumni Dental community to build relationships, strengthen engagement, and encourage giving to support the mission of TUSDM.
The Alumni Relations Coordinator will help the Associate Director of Alumni Relations with the coordination of events, meetings and programs from concept to execution. This person will be responsible for the detailed logistics such as venue selection, creation of materials, audiovisual setup and management of speakers. This person will assist in the creation of copy for various social media platforms including websites, Twitter, Facebook, etc.
1-3 yrs of professional experience in volunteer management, fundraising/development or alumni relations.
BA/BS or HS diploma with 5+ years of administrative experience
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software applications, including Word and Excel.
Knowledge of Social media and the various changes within the social and digital media arena.
Must be proactive, articulate, personable, well-organized, service-oriented, and able to handle multiple projects concurrently.
Excellent interpersonal skills are essential.
Experience in higher education or another nonprofit setting.
Prior experience assisting with event planning.
Prior experience or knowledge of fundraising and alumni relations.
Ability to best communicate the company's message on different social media platforms, determine audience, and measure outcomes.
Must be responsive and service oriented to internal (Faculty, Administrators, Staff, etc.) as well as external constituents (alumni, donors, etc.).
Familiarity with Access and Advance (or comparable donor and information management system) is highly desirable.
An aptitude for and commitment to learning new systems and applications is preferred.
