Careers Start Here.The Accounting Specialist II is an integral part of the Center's Accounting team and performs cash management functions relating to all aspects the Center's finances. This role's main function is to deposit and record payments. The position works closely with multiple groups within the Center to ensure accurately and timely recording of financial information. The position reports directly to the Billing and Accounts Receivable Manager.Responsible for processing of daily cash receipts including entry into financial system.Review and prepare bank deposits in CashPro.Record customer payments in billing system and apply to customer accounts.Categorize, scan and route cash receipt activity for internal review and coding (beginning late 2017).Manage workflow queue and status of cash receipt activity (beginning late 2017).Review and process journal entries.Respond to internal/external customer inquiries and requests for information.Perform various customer or GL account reconciliations.Organizes and maintains retention files for required period of time.Assist with periodic updates and configuration of document management or financial systems.Perform other responsibilities as required, including occasional administrative and clerical tasks.High school diploma or GED equivalent required, college level accounting classes or Accounting Degree preferred.Minimum of 6 months bookkeeping, accounts receivable, cash collection or financial experience.Intermediate skills with MS Excel, Outlook.Experience with OnBase or PeopleSoft a plus.Experience with non-profit or research a plus.Other:Person must be diligent and self-motivated with attention to detail.Ability to consistently and accurately process transactions.Must have excellent work habits, including organization and timeliness.Should have desire to work in coordinated, team-oriented environment.
