We are looking for a talented professional with extraordinary people skills to partner with volunteers and key stakeholders to guide and enhance the diversity initiatives. We are looking for someone to help increase awareness of the accounting profession among high school students and to support college students with the resources necessary to prepare them for passing the CPA exam.

Serve as the primary staff representative for the Diversity Advisory Council senior level volunteer group. Plan meeting agendas and develop goals and strategies to increase recruitment and engagement of diverse members in the Society.
Oversee all components of an annual Diversity Summit, including planning the educational content, securing speakers, and managing the event marketing.
Pursue and manage strategic partnerships with minority accounting associations, minority-owned accounting firms, and other organizations with a focus on diversity.
Manage the program development, volunteers, and implementation for the Mary T. Washington Wylie college student diversity program.
Manage a High School Outreach Initiative – Develop partnerships with high school administrators and teachers to increase awareness of the accounting profession among minority students. Coordinate customized outreach efforts and enhance program materials and resources. Invite and prepare volunteers to participate. Help establish annual outreach goals and report on progress.
Manage and guide the Student Engagement Coordinator. Manage the development, enhancement, and execution of annual strategies designed to recruit and retain college student members. Participate in presentations to encourage accounting students to become CPAs on college campuses and accounting firm intern orientations.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel 10-15% of time, mostly to locations with Illinois
6+ years of professional work experiences in student engagement, diversity and inclusion, marketing, or related field in a membership association or non-profit organization
Experience managing people and multiple projects at once
Strong professional interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills
Strong managerial, relationship building, marketing, event planning, and a variety of other skills.
