The Council on Recovery is seeking a Manager of Special Events and Community Affairs with event planning and coordination experience along with nonprofit fundraising experience and skills. Reports to Chief Advancement and Administrative Officer.
Work directly with the CAAO to develop and implement fundraising strategies
Work directly with CAAO to forecast annual fundraising budgetary needs and develop sources of funds to meet those needs
Provide frequent reports to Leadership in regards to budget and fundraising goals
Serve as the lead team member for all special event fundraising for The Council, managing both the gift procurement and execution including:
board committee and volunteer recruitment and management
Provide supervision to staff in regards to managing constituent data, event coordination, and venue management
With the CAAO, identify and cultivate major gift prospects and donors with a specific emphasis on individual donors identified through special events and foundation prospects
identify new sources of funding to meet fundraising goals and assist in annual budget preparation
Attend appropriate board and committee meetings and represent the CAAO as necessary in both internal and external meetings
Assure individual and team compliance with agency policies and procedures
5+ years of successful fundraising and event management experience with proven and measurable results
Experience in major gifts funding
Experience in strategically planning, implementing and leveraging fundraising special events (500+ attendees)
Experience working with and managing staff and volunteers
Is highly organized and motivated
Has excellent communications skills
Advanced skillset with Microsoft Office
Is able to work both as an effective member of a team and independently
Available to work some early mornings, nights and weekends as necessary to execute positional responsibilities
Brings a supportive and positive attitude
Has both the personality and intuitive fundraising skills to be successful in our Special Events fundraising culture
Raiser’s Edge or related donor management software knowledge
Demonstrates knowledge of communications in multi-faceted media environment
Proven donor cultivation and solicitation experience and persuasive presentation skills
Accepts additional assignments willingly
Demonstrates an ability to perform a variety of duties
Is flexible to accommodate changing workloads, a variety of personalities and unpredictable situations
