RUDOLF STEINER SCHOOL Upper School German Teacher Full-Time Position, BeginningFall 2018
Position: The Rudolf Steiner School seeks a full-time colleague to join the Upper School World Language Department who brings experience and enthusiasm for teaching German language, literature and culture. The core of this position includes teaching German by levels in grades 9-12, and Introductory German in grade 8. The position includes oversight of the German section of the school’s Foreign Exchange Program, which places our students in Waldorf schools in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and then brings foreign students from the host families back to our NYC school. Each exchange lasts approximately 3 months.
The school requires foreign language teachers to be native speakers, and ideally seek teachers with training and experience teaching in a Waldorf high school. As a member of the Upper School faculty, the German teacher works collaboratively with colleagues on a daily basis and in regular departmental, area, and all-school meetings. Additional responsibilities include advising students, traveling with classes on school trips, and continued professional development.
