Founded in 2012, The Episcopal School of Los Angeles is an independent, college preparatory day school committed to rigorous inquiry, social justice, and open dialogues. Over half of ESLA’s operating budget is dedicated to financial aid; nearly 30% of our student body lives near the poverty line and receives full aid, and another 40% receives substantial or partial aid. This allows the school to recruit and enroll the brightest, most dedicated students from all walks of life, and it requires an enormous, non-traditional admissions and outreach effort.
ESLA is seeking a charismatic, motivated Assistant Director of Admissions and Outreach. Multilingual applicants with some experience in outreach and communications are strongly preferred. Applicants with strong community ties in the Los Angeles area are preferred. The ideal applicant will also be qualified to teach two sections of Spanish I.
Admissions and outreach duties include:
Assist in the overall orchestration of the admissions season, including tracking inquiries, processing / reviewing applications, scheduling / conducting interviews, sitting on the executive admissions committee, and coordinating decision release / enrollment.
Plan and execute open houses and other on-site outreach events.
Travel to school fairs and community outreach events; must be willing to work late evenings and weekends.
Coordinate outreach efforts with current parents and students; coach student ambassadors.
Liaise with community leaders, nonprofits, consultants, outplacement advisors, and heads of schools.
Develop nontraditional outreach efforts and engage prospective communities in creative ways.
Currently serving students in 6-12th grade and planning the foundation of a new preschool, The Episcopal School of Los Angeles is a city school founded in the heart of Hollywood. We are looking for bright, hardworking, creative teachers and staff members who are interested in being a part of a pioneering generation of educators. Technology and ethics play a central role in our culture. As an Ep...iscopal School, we are an inclusive community that welcomes people from all backgrounds. Unlike traditional independent schools, 75% of our students receive financial aid. As a result, we offer both one of the most diverse communities in the independent school market, as well as one of the most generous.
