The Project Manager is responsible for managing the planning and execution of projects and activities. The PM provides project leadership to project team members and partners with cross-functional teams to ensure projects deliver the expected scope and business value, complete on budget and on schedule, and deliver with quality. Under general direction of the campaign lead (assigned at the beginning of each campaign), this position typically plans and manages medium-to-large sized projects of moderate-to-high complexity. Builds strong, mutually respectful partnerships with stakeholders, manages expectations, and ensures the appropriate level of communication for the audience. The PM uses well-developed judgment to understand business environment and needs, and shares customer perspective with the project team.
Specific responsibilities include:
Individual campaign deliverables:
Overseeing development of all project deliverables (charter, requirements, detailed design, test plan, etc.)
Ensuring execution of all activities to meet the defined scope, schedule, budget and resources
Coordinating with people managers, partners, vendors and project sponsorship to ensure project is appropriately resourced and resources and/or tools are effectively managed to achieve project objectives
Anticipating project specific risks and minimizes impact of change on project delivery
Conducts lessons learned and hands off work for sustainability
Editorial calendar updates and liaison across the organization
Facilitates meetings and communications to support the development and maintenance of the editorial calendar to ensure transparency of relevant information to appropriate audiences and momentum for this important CCM tool.
Establishes and nurtures relationships with stakeholders internally and externally.
Project Management Practice: Leverage project methodologies and best practices (internal & external) to ensure quality, consistent, effective delivery (IE: PMI, Agile, Waterfall, etc.)
Reports to: Deputy Director, Creative, Campaigns & Media
PMP certification is desired but not required. 5 years of PM experience or relevant business management experience, preferably experienced managing various types of projects. Preferably knowledge of and experience working with international development and media stakeholders.
