St. Louis College of Pharmacy is currently seeking a graphic designer. This position contributes to marketing and communications efforts by providing visual solutions for a wide variety of projects, taking ownership from concept through production. The designer works closely with project managers, vendors and printers to achieve successful results and fulfill the College's communications goals.
SPECIFIC MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Print design: design all types of projects, including institutional materials, special projects for the president, recruitment materials, advancement and Capital Campaign materials, and other creative projects for campus clients
Editorial design: design layouts, direct photoshoots and attend press checks as needed
Web/digital design: design advertisements, digital banners, websites and web graphics
Digital assets: fulfill requests for photos and College logos when requested
Relationship building: work closely with project managers, printers, freelance designers/production artists and vendors
Time management: report on time spent on projects and participate in workload analysis and project prioritization
Bachelor’s degree in art, graphic design or relevant field
One to three years of experience in print design
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat and Lightroom Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel
Ability to interact and communicate effectively with others, both individually and in groups, using professional verbal and non-verbal communication
Capacity to problem-solve and make decisions often times on a strict deadline
Confidently communicate design principles and reasons for design choices
Close attention to detail, artistic talent, strong organizational skills, awareness of design trends and production/printing technicalities
Experience in higher education or nonprofit communications Experience working with commercial print vendors Experience creating design assets for web use
Requires extensive use of computer keyboards and monitors. Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time. Should be able to reach, stoop, bend and lift 35 pounds.
