In This Role, You Will...Work with team members to oversee and participate in periodic reviews of accounts to examine compliance with donor intent, appropriate use of funds, timeliness of expenditures and report on findings which will impact future gifting to Iowa State.
Draft gift agreements, structuring provisions to address the unique circumstances of each gift and donor intent.
Lead training for campus administrators on the web-based financial system to ensure a sound understanding of the requirements, procedures and resources available for successful administration of gift accounts.
Develop training resources tailored to enhancing staff understanding of key gift agreement formats, guidelines and issues.
Build relationships with colleagues and campus partners to ensure strengthening fulfillment of donor intent.
Work independently and collaboratively with all levels of staff, managing multiple deadlines.
Required Education and Experience:
To Be Successful, You Will Need...Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related area required along with a minimum five years' professional experience with an emphasis in accounting, finance, gift/estate planning, gift/grant administration and/or transactional law.
Prior higher education, public sector, nonprofit, and/or philanthropic administrative experience in a constituency responsive fast paced team environment involving agreements, policies and compliance issues is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to think conceptually; strong attention to detail; strong analytical and information management skills with a high comfort level for learning new software applications.
Savvy relationship-building and communication skills. You should be articulate and persuasive with diplomacy and tact to represent the foundation to multiple constituents.
Creative problem-solving skills and resourcefulness, while multi-tasking and managing multiple initiatives.
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality where necessary.
Independent self-starter with the ability to work effectively in a team oriented environment, a dedicated work ethic and a positive and professional attitude.
