WHAT WE DO The Colorado Gaming Association (CGA) is the only statewide non-profit association representing the interests of the Colorado commercial casino industry. Founded in 1994, the association represents the gaming industry before the legislature, the Colorado Limited Gaming Control Commission, and other state entities, such as the Colorado Historical Society, Department of Revenue, and the Office of the Attorney General.
THE OPPORTUNITY This position serves the Board of Directors and the association members to accomplish identified strategic objectives for the Colorado Gaming Association. Under the direction of the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for the organization, management and operation of the CGA. The Executive Director is also responsible for the managing the organization’s financial assets and ensuring compliance with board directives and applicable laws and regulations. This position is responsible for assisting in the development and execution of the associations’ political and public policy strategies in conjunction with Board of Directors. This position manages the day-to-day budget and oversees all staff and contracted services including, but not limited to, attorney and lobbyists.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING The position will be responsible for the following; • Advocate the value of gaming industry to Colorado; • Advocate to regulators and legislators to improve efficiencies/reduce burden on behalf of the CGA; • Expand membership; • Develop relationships with beneficiaries of gaming taxes; • Promote positive impact within the industry; • Build a strong voice in the tourism industry; • Identify and coordinate efforts to stop illegal gaming within the state; and • Execute and keep the board focused on achieving the goals set out in the board approved strategic plan.
