Senior Program Manager, Patient and Family Program

The senior program manager reports to the executive director of patient and community engagement, has daily independent responsibility for leading the activities of the patient and family program and ensuring that its activities support the successful achievement of VUMC developmentâs annual fundraising objectives and goals.
Oversee, execute and continuously improve development efforts related to patient giving and physician engagement.
Supervise patient and family program staff.
Develop an annual operating plan in collaboration with key stakeholders and department leadership.
Oversee clinical referral process and execute all procedures and follow up.
Manage a portfolio of clinical department and physician referral relationships.
Represent the Patient and Family Program to VUMC department chairs, physicians and clinical staff.
Possess an expert level of knowledge regarding HIPAA and VUMC privacy requirements related to fundraising.
Assure VUMC Development staff, VUMC clinical department chairs, physicians and clinical staff each has applicable current knowledge of program process and VUMC HIPAA Fundraising Guidelines and Practices.
Conduct an annual review and update of the VUMC HIPAA Fundraising Guidelines and Practices in collaboration with VUMC Privacy Office and Office of Legal Affairs.
Lead regular monthly meetings with the development officers to coordinate activities related to the patient and family program including a review of past and upcoming faculty meetings, the status of active referrals and progress toward departmental clinical referral goals.
Maintain current knowledge of best practices in patient and family philanthropy.
Identify effective strategies to engage new faculty and nurses while also maintaining and stewarding active faculty and staff partners.
Collaborate closely and effectively with the Community Engagement team and Research and Relationship Management team.
Assure program documentation and activity reporting is in excellent order and delivered on time.
Act as the primary VUMC Development liaison with VUMC Facilitated Patient Services.
Lead the development of and manage a complex calendar of engagement and discovery activities designed to engage medical staff and identified prospects by correspondence and phone with goal of scheduling face-to-face visits between clinical prospects and major gift officers

Work cooperatively with VUMC Development colleagues, as well as colleagues across the Medical Center.
