The Research Project Manager must be responsive and organized. He/she must be capable of effective multi-tasking, keeping multiple strands of assigned work organized and moving forward to produce timely, high-quality deliverables.
The Research Project Manager must be a strong writer, capable of simultaneously delivering multiple work products while leading and/or participating on multiple initiatives.
The Research Project Manager must be self-driven. iNACOL is a small organization and requires consultants and team members to deliver high-quality work products on or before assigned deadlines.

The Research Project Manager will ideally have experience working with an institution, education organization or the non-profit sector with a background or interest in competency-based education and personalized learning in K-12 education. The Research Project Manager will have a passion for educational innovation and transformation. In addition to a strong educational background, the key functional skills for this job will include but not be limited to:
- Ability to conduct thoughtful, well-documented research. iNACOL differentiates itself through the thoroughness and objectivity of our research reports. The Research Project Manager must be an expert in quantitative and qualitative research. The Research Project Manager must have technical expertise in statistical methodology, data analysis on surveys as well as expertise in using appropriate quantitative, qualitative and other methods of analysis. The Research Project Manager must understand how to plan and implement research projects, including familiarity with statistical methodology and Rasch rating scale models. The ability to conduct descriptive research on emerging research topics in personalized learning across K-12 education is critical. In addition, the Research Project Manager needs to design and implement a descriptive study using and deliver fully-documented, well-organized findings in the format(s) requested by their supervisor. This may include planning and conducting the initial descriptive research study of the field of personalized learning through a process of analyzing text from questions, interviews, and other open- ended forms of gathering information. Data collection activities may include coding, analyzing and summarizing findings (including evaluating questionnaire submissions and textual information to be used in qualitative research from our internal database, analyzing the data, drawing inferences, and writing a synthesis for a descriptive study of the field. Applicants need to have demonstrated understanding of operational requirements for successful quantitative and qualitative research
- Ability to write. The ability to independently deliver the highest-quality written deliverables is critical. The Research Project Manager must be able to produce clear, concise written work products and reports on Personalized Learning, delivered in a variety of formats and expressed with an economy of expression. The Research Project Manager must be able to develop high-quality written work products – requiring edits and collaboration, but not extensive re-writes --- that extend thought-leadership on personalized learning in K-12 education.
- Presentation Skills. Because the Research Project Manager will frequently be presenting to teams, it will be best if he/she also has effective public speaking / presentation
- Ability to multi-task. The Research Project Manager must be able to do many things at the same time, with minimal mistakes or
- Ability to listen calmly, plan appropriately, and react decisively. This is a role where there will be unanticipated and challenging developments across important partners in the field. New assignments with urgent timeframes will arise unexpectedly. The Research Project Manager will need to listen intently,process information quickly and accurately, stay calm at the center of the action, and then pursue a plan of action that gets positive results.
The Research Project Manager must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google documents and selected database tools, and have experience creating and contributing to collaborative publications.
- A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required; Master’s or Ph.D.
- Proven experience in project management and conducting
